Ava Zinn is one of the two main protagonists of Caprice & Ella, alongside her cat, Caprice. Ava loves to hang out in the living room talking to Caprice and Ella.

Biography

Aeverine Frathleen “Ava” Nieves (née Zinn), better known as Ava Zinn, was born a boy on January 4, 1983, in LaGrange, Illinois, later growing up in Mill Township/Gas City, Van Buren and Marion, Indiana with her mother Margaret and her brother Albert; and graduating from Mississinewa High School to pursue her dream of becoming a Special Education teacher. However, after being dis-enrolled from Indiana Wesleyan University in September 2001, everything changed. On December 1, 2004, she transitioned to female. Ava moved from Marion to Fort Wayne on May 14, 2018, after 22 years in Marion and 35 years in Grant County, Indiana.
Ava was the owner of her channel and has been seen and heard in every episode she has made over the years. She has lots of other YouTube channels aside from Caprice & Ella, with the most popular being Vote for the Girls, Queen of the Willis, INNewsCenter, Vape Back!, Retail Nightmares.

Caprice was Ava’s first animal after moving to Fort Wayne, which Caprice was adopted from the Allen County SPCA (now Humane Fort Wayne). Ava’s second animal was a dog named Ella.

Ava was married to Angie from May 27, 2001, until Angie’s death on June 1, 2010, and Ava has not remarried. She was however, in several relationships with Christy Johnson, Amanda Davidson (for a second stint), Kymberly Alvaraz (ended in legal action in 2017), Elisa Everman (for a second stint), Marti McDaniel, and Breeanna Sorensen.

Ava had two children with Amanda Davidson, Samantha (b. 1993 d. 2020) and Thomas (b. 1997 d. 2006), two children with Elisa Everman, Tiffani (b. Timothy in 1999 d. 2021) and Sheryl (b. 1999 d. 2009), one child with Angie Nieves, Tabitha (b. 2003 d. 2018), and one child with Kymberly Alvaraz, Kenneth ”Baby Kenny” (b. 2015 d. 2018). Ava has five grandchildren: granddaughters Alisan (b. 2018 to Tiffani and Jenna Zinn), Pia, and Christina (b. 2023 to Jenna Zinn and posthumously Tiffani Zinn), grandson Michael II and granddaughter Madison ”Leah” (fraternal twins b. 2019 to Martin and Samantha (Zinn) Becker).

• Most of the time, Ava gets angry at Caprice and/or Ella when they didn’t do things her way.
• Unlike Caprice, Ava is more friendly and kind-hearted to people she remembers. This is in stark contrast to her personality in “Vote for the Girls.”
• Ava’s favorite stores are Kroger, Walmart, and Meijer.
• Ava also frequently shops at Costco, Sam’s Club, and Target.
• Ava doesn’t go to Aldi, Dollar General, Family Dollar, or Dollar Tree as much in Fort Wayne compared to when she lived in Marion.
• Ava’s favorite restaurant is Subway.
• Caprice & Ella is similar to Steve Cash’s The Talking Kitty Cat series. She is similar to Steve Cash, Shelby, Sylvester, Random Kitty, and Gibbyson, or maybe similarly based on “Queen of the Willis” similar to Ava, Shushu, and Tabby. The main characters of Caprice & Ella are based on the Garfield franchise.
• Ava lived in Marion, Indiana for 22 years before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana in May 2018. Prior to living in Marion, she lived in Van Buren for 11 years when she grew up and thus calls Van Buren her hometown.
• Ava never obtained her first driver’s license and often relies on CitiLink or walks.
• Until beginning her relationship with Breeanna, Ava had never been with a woman younger than Ava. That changed on September 23, 2022, when it marked the first time Ava had been the senior partner in the relationship.
• Ava is the transgendered niece of the late Columbia City, Indiana mayor Joseph Zickgraf.
